Moving forward

Thank you for the get well wishes! I can happily say that B and I are now at 90% (so basically we feel great for winter) and G, who got hit late with the illness, is cruising towards that as well. I figured I would mark my final return to health by actually running but nature had other plans with the single digit temps that have descended. I did get on the elliptical and coughed only sporadically so pretty much the same.

"What part of losing sensation in my extremities is supposed to be fun?"

With the sickness mostly behind us, G and I were able to go out and celebrate our 3rd anniversary yesterday. We have been wanting to go to this local legend of a restaurant called Forage. It has super weird, somewhat pretentious food, that is served to you in 14 little tastes. They call it a dining experience, and that’s pretty much what it was. The food was good, although not something I’d ever crave, but it was fun to linger over dinner and talk about what the hell we could possibly be eating. Most of all it was wonderful to actually spend some time with that lovely husband of mine who has been so busy with work lately.

The menu did not actually describe what was coming.

It was almost impossible to find the edible parts among the leaves, twigs, and burning embers of this course.

Yeah this one was served on rocks.

Speaking of G’s job we are also getting ready to head to Kansas City to watch G’s team try to win a championship! I am not even a little bit a sports person, like can barely keep my attention focused enough to watch Super Bowl commercials, but I will definitely be paying attention and cheering at this game. I always think it’s weird when people say “our team” about a team they don’t play for but every time I refer to RSL as Daddy’s team, B corrects me and says it’s Mommy and Benny and Daddy’s team which is adorable. So I guess we’re cheering for our team? Whatever you want to call it G has had a crazy stressful year and worked so hard and B and I would love nothing more than to celebrate the ultimate victory with him and his/our team. Now you should see how many varieties of hand sanitizer, wet wipes, binky wipes, and the like I am packing for this trip. We.will.not.get.sick.again.

18 weeks already. Time flies when you think you might be dying.
